What you need to know to enjoy the team presentation in Lille on July 3
Where and when can you see the riders?
During the parade, starting at 6pm from the Opéra. In teams, runners will head up rue Faidherbe towards Lille Flandres station, before turning into rue du Molinel and then rue Pierre Mauroy to return to place du Général de Gaulle (Grand'Place).
From 6.30pm, each team will be presented on the circular stage set up around the Goddess, until 8pm.
How do I get there?
A large perimeter was closed to traffic in the center of Lille on July 3.
We strongly advise you to use public transport. To do this, consult the traffic plan set up by Ilevia, as well as the list of park-and-ride facilities.
For the parade, get off at Mairie de Lille and Lille Flandres (line 2).
For the team presentation, get off at Lille Flandres (line 2) or Rihour (line 1), exit at rue de la Vieille Comédie. Please note that rue Rihour does not provide access to the Grand'Place, so you'll have to go to rue Neuve or rue Esquermoise.
To catch the metro after the show, head for Lille Flandres (line 2) or Rihour and République Beaux-Arts (line 1) stations .
How to get to the Grand Place
The capacity is limited for safety reasons. 4 access doors are available.
Recommended routes
Gate B: rue Neuve. Easily accessible on foot from Rihour station.
Gate C: rue Esquermoise. This is the door to choose, accessible from Rihour station in just a few minutes on foot. It's also the perfect opportunity to enjoy the enchanting setting of Vieux Lille before the show.
Gate D: rue de la Bourse. The gate of choice, accessible from Lille Flandres station. For cycling fans, this will take you to the Grand'Place after a detour via rue des Cannoniers and boulevard Carnot, close to the runners' buses.
Itinerary not recommended
The 4th door, Door A, is located on rue des Maneliers and is accessible from rue Faidherbe. We suggest that you give priority to the other gates, to avoid long waits and the risk of closure in the event of overcrowding.
No access will be possible from Rue Nationale, reserved for emergency services.
Safety measures
Once the capacity has been reached, access to the Grand'Place will be interrupted.
Spectators will be searched by security guards at the entrance to each gate for their own safety. You will find the list of prohibited items below.
Any tips?
Plan ahead and arrive early. The Grand Départ attracts large numbers of spectators from all over France and neighboring countries.
Generally speaking, you'll find it very difficult to get to the Grand'Place if you've chosen to watch the runners go by on the parade route.
It is also possible to watch the team presentations live on screens located near Lille Flandres station, at the corner of rue Molinel/Pierre Mauroy and on the Saint-Maurice forecourt. The show will also be broadcast live from the fan park on Place de la République.
A dress code?
Everyone in yellow! The Lille European Metropolis, the Nord department and the Hauts-de-France region invite you to take up the challenge of a yellow tide to launch the Tour.
Caps, T-shirts, scarves... your yellow accessories are welcome to make this image one that will remain engraved in the history of the Great Departures.
