Step 2
Lauwin-Planque - Boulogne-sur-Mer
Departure on July 6 at 12.15pm, arrival at 5.20pm
From a start in the heart of the Douais region, the profile of this stage will undoubtedly lead to a change in the Yellow Jersey wearer. If he's a pure sprinter, it will be difficult for yesterday's winner to resist the wear and tear of the Artois and Boulonnais hills, and the incessant battle of the climbs leading up to windy plateaus. As for the finale, it will be cut out for the puncheurs, with two severe difficulties on the seaside, at Saint-Étienne-au-Mont and its 15% passages, then at Outreau, just over 5 kilometers from the finish line, which itself is marked out at the top of a one-kilometre climb. The overall favourites will need to be on their toes.

Focus on the stage
There are good reasons to believe that the Yellow Jersey could change shoulders in Boulogne-sur-Mer, where the Tour 2025 punchfest will be unleashed. The hills of the Artois and Boulonnais regions will already be taking their toll on the body when it comes to tackling the two tough seaside sections at Saint-Étienne-au-Mont, with its 15% gradient, and Outreau, just over five kilometers from the finish line.
But it's still on a serious one-kilometre steep section that you'll have to make the difference to win.
