Everything you need to know about the Grand Départ in Lauwin-Planque

On Sunday July 6, cyclists will set off from Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-sur-Mer for the second stage of the Tour de France. A day of celebration awaits you!

Nearly 20,000 people are expected on the Domaine de Lauwin plain, renamed the "Tour de France stadium" for the occasion.

Several highlights will mark this exceptional day:

  • 8.15am: Tour de France stadium opens
  • 8:30 a.m.: opening of the signature podium and launch of events by speakers Marc Chavet and Michel Gelizé
  • 10:45 a.m.: Signings and presentation of the 22 teams, jerseys and regional riders
  • 12:15pm: live broadcast of the stage on a giant screen in the Lauwin entertainment area
  • 6pm: free concert with Il Cello, the winning trio from The Voice, followed by DJs Kavinski and Sound of Legend

In the morning, meet in the visitors' area

Entertainment on the signature podium starts at 8:45, with speakers Marc Chavet and Michel Gelizé. They will introduce the eight young participants in the "Continental Cadets-Juniors" operation (9.15am) and the eight winners of the Dictée du Tour (9.20am).

The presentation of the 22 teams will take place from 10.55 am, followed by the showcasing of emblematic riders (distinctive jerseys, regional stage winners...) at 11.35 am.

  • distribution of gifts by Tour de France partners

The Tour in the streets of Lauwin-Planque

  • 10 a.m.: advertising caravan passes by
  • 12:05pm: dummy start from the rue du Marais entrance

Please note that parking will be prohibited :

  • Saturday, July 5 from 4pm to Sunday, July 6 at 9pm in the streets of Les Garennes, du Marais, de l'Abbaye, Robert Surcouf, Jacques Cartier
  • from 9pm on Saturday July 5 to 2pm on Sunday July 6 in the streets of Calvaire, Jean Jaurès, Roger Salengro and Marie Curie

Traffic will be closed :

  • Saturday, July 5 from 4pm to Sunday, July 6 at 9pm in the streets of Les Garennes, du Marais, de l'Abbaye, Robert Surcouf, Jacques Cartier
  • Sunday, July 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Rue du Calvaire, Rue Jean Jaurès, Rue Roger Salengro and Rue Marie Curie

In the afternoon, visit the Lauwin entertainment area

Here you'll find :

  • a bar and restaurant area
  • the giant screen that will broadcast the stage live
  • all the way to the big free concert

How do I get to the party?

The Lauwin-Park and Carrefour Flers-en-Escrebieux parking lots will be open. To reach the Lauwin estate, shuttles operated by SMTD buses will run continuously on Sunday July 6 between 8am and 8pm. A pedestrian link will be set up from Lauwin Park to the Tour de France stadium.

A few safety instructions

During the passage of the caravan and the riders, stay behind the safety barriers; keep an eye on your children and hold their hands at all times; be careful when picking up gifts handed out by the publicity caravan; keep your pets on a leash and away from the roadside; keep as far away from the road as possible and don't change location at the last minute.

Do not run alongside runners. For their safety, don't run in front of them, even to encourage them, don't spray them, and don't wave banners over them.
