Decorated towns and villages: winners announced
A contest in the colors of the Tour
Painted recycled bicycles, cycling jerseys, flowers, pennants... Each of the participating towns and villages was creative in its own way. Decorating streets, buildings and public spaces, the communes of Nord and Pas-de-Calais can be proud of their participation in this great celebration!
Organized by the Hauts-de-France Region, the MEL and the Département du Nord, the Villes et Villages Décorés (Decorated Towns and Villages) competition was designed to celebrate the Tour's passage through France, while giving participating towns and villages a chance to shine.
The list of towns and villages decorated for the Grand Départ
- Grand Prix: Beuvry (62)
- Village favorite: Brexent-Enocq (62)
- Revelation: Aire-sur-la-Lys (62)
- People's Choice Award: Nieppe (59)
The "Grand Prix", the "Coup de cœur village" and the "Révélation " prizes were awarded by a jury comprising : Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France, Alain Bondue, former professional cyclist, and Matthieu Prudhomme, illustrator of the official Tour de France 2025 poster.
The "Revelation" prize was awarded to the town of Aire-sur-la-Lys (62), whose blue-white-red sky will remain one of the outstanding images of the Grand Départ.
The People's Choice Award was presented in an open vote on the Grand Départ website during the summer. The commune of Nieppe was awarded the prize after receiving 831 votes out of 2875 online votes. It was widely acclaimed, with the 2nd most-voted commune receiving 301 votes.
